FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA

In Friuli Venezia Giulia, in the foothills of the Alto Livenza in 2012, thanks to the intuition of the entrepreneur Diego Zambon, the first and largest saffron plantations in the region were born based on sustainable agriculture techniques. Inspired by an old cultivation of saffron (Crocus Sativus) present in the municipality of Polcenigo since the end of the 80s, he decided to start the production and relative marketing of the spice and to create a line of products based on Friulano saffron (jams , biscuits, cheeses and a series of liqueurs and distillates).

2014

FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA

In 2014, Friulano saffron obtained the First Quality certification (ISO 3632-2:2010 standard), which places it among the best saffrons in Italy, thanks to the hilly microclimate and the characteristics of the loose and draining soils of the Pordenone foothills. , which represent the optimum for growing this flower.

In 2014, Friulano saffron became part of the Italian Saffron Association which guarantees the certain and traceable origin of the product and a highly qualified offer.

In the summer of 2016, from the collaboration with Tatiana Cinquemani, Linea Zeta was born and ”La Casa dello Zafferano” opened in Polcenigo (Pordenone): La Taverna Slow Shop & Bar. A point of reference in the region for all growers and enthusiasts of this precious spice. The restaurant offers the opportunity to buy and taste products based on saffron, Slow Food, km0 and other local and regional excellences.
